Dogfish Head - Wrath Of Pecant

Wrath of Pecant is a collaboration between Dogfish and the Alstrom Brothers of Beer Advocate celebrating the 2010 Extreme Beer Fest.  Wrath of Pecant became a 6% abv brownish ale brewed with pecan-wood smoked malt, plantains, and carob. It is complex yet quaffable; maltiness nuttiness and subtle earthy notes prevail.  The beer was first tapped at the 2010 Extreme Beer Fest in Boston in February. The bottles (750ml) were released from the Milton brewery for The Weekend Of Compelling Ales & Whatnot in March of 2010. They are now available for sale from the brewery (and very soon at the brewpub!). There are no plans to distribute this beer outside the state of Delaware. I picked up a bottle at the Milton brewery back in August 2010.  Sadly I only bought one but enjoyed it with several friends at an Oktoberfest party at the end September 2010.

The ABV is 6.0 and the IBU rating is 35
Style -Brown Ale
Glass to use- Pint Glass or Mug
Delivery 750ml Bottle

Not recommended for extended cellaring.

The Pour - Pours a nice ruby color with a good cream head. Good lacing.
Aroma - Nutty from the pecan wood, spicy very interesting.
Taste -  Spicy, Cinnamon, sweet and fruity from the hops.
Mouth Feel - Well carbonation, just right.
Drinkable - This is an excellent brew, I wish it were available outside of Delaware.

This beer pairs well with cheese, chocolate, BBQ and meats.

This beer gets a Duper rating of A.
