Samuel Smith's - Winter Welcome Ale

The Old Brewery at Tadcaster was founded in 1758 and bears the name of famous local brewer Samuel Smith. It is both the oldest brewery in Yorkshire and the only surviving independent brewery in Tadcaster.
This seasonal beer is a limited edition brewed for the short days and long nights of winter. The full body resulting from fermentation in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ and the luxurious malt character, which will appeal to a broad range of drinkers, is balanced against whole-dried Fuggle and Golding hops with nuances and complexities that should be contemplated before an open fire.

The ABV is 6.0 and the IBU rating is ??.
Style – Winter Warmer (English Ale)
Glass to use - Pint Glass or Tumbler
Delivery 355ml bottle.

Not recommended for extended cellaring.

The Pour - Pours a Amber color and a tan head that vanishes. Good lacing.
Aroma - Malty, hoppy, some fruits like banana and some spices.
Taste - Sweet, hints of chocolate and spices.
Mouth Feel - Medium carbonation and body.
Drinkable - Very drinkable better than the first time I had this.  Aging for 6 months has helped though I will not age it past a year.

This beer pairs with white meats.

This beer gets a Duper rating of B+
BeerAdvocate Rating =B
Ratebeer Rating = 76
