t' Smisje - Catherine The Great

t Smisje Catherine The Great Imperial Stout from Brouwerij De Regenboog is a top fermentation beer, re-fermented in the bottle with an alcohol content of 10,00%. Almost black color, unfiltered. Complex aroma and taste. Full-bodied with a long-lasting, bitter aftertaste.

Had this at Monk's.

The ABV is 10.0 and the IBU rating is ??
Style - Russian Imperial Stout (Belgium)
Glass to use- Pint Glass, Tumbler or Snifter
Delivery 350ml Bottle

Can be cellared for long periods, under the proper conditions.

The Pour - Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Good lacing.
Aroma - Funky.A bit boozy. 
Taste -  Sweet, sour, very strange.Hard to describe. 
Mouth Feel - Medium carbonation and body, little fuzzy with a dry finish.
Drinkable - Okay folks this is not a Russian Imperial Stout, as you know one. Clearly the Belgium's have their own slant on what a Russian Imperial Stout should be like.  I'm not sure how to classify this, let's just say it's unique. You should search this out and try it yourself. 

This beer may pair well with desserts.
